Sustainability
Adventure grade. Better made.
Adventure grade. We're committed to designing lasting, technical gear to elevate time outside. Our gear allows you to pack less and go further with stronger, lighter fabrics and best-in-class construction. Each Kammok product is backed by our lifetime warranty.
Better made. Kammok ensures that the sustainable life cycle of each product begins in production. Every step of the way, we’ve opted for stronger fabrics, cleaner chemicals, and recycled materials, when possible, to minimize our footprint and lengthen the life of our gear.
Because social and environmental responsibility are intrinsic to our core values, Kammok is also committed to incorporating sustainable practices at our headquarters and factories abroad from living wages to biking stipends and outdoor education courses.
Our partners at B Corps and 1% for the Planet encourage a culture of transparency, stewardship, and philanthropy within our community.
Partners
B Corporation
As a certified B Corps company, Kammok meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance our profit and purpose: to equip and inspire for life changing adventure.
Our factories offer living wages to workers, a clean and open workspace, and put into practice Kammok’s commitment to sustainability and recycling. To learn more about the B Corps certification, visit their website.
1% for the Planet
Since 2011, Kammok has been a longstanding member of 1% for the Planet, a network of businesses and individuals committed to giving back to environmental nonprofits.
Each year, 1% of our revenue is donated to our nonprofit partner, Explore Austin. To date, Kammok has donated more than $100,000 to further our mission for more time outside and mentorship in the outdoors. You can learn more about our partnership with Explore Austin on our Give page.
Climate Neutral
We believe better made products contribute to more human flourishing, and this is why Kammok is a Climate Neutral Certified business. Since 2021, Kammok has worked with Climate Neutral to measure and offset our 2020 carbon emissions, and are working to reduce our future emissions. Learn more about our carbon emission reduction plans on our blog and Climate Neutral profile page.
Reuse and recycle
Upcycled products
Our commitment to upcycle scrap fabrics and hardware means we continue to find creative ways to use leftover materials post-production. Our growing upcycled line, including the Tote and Pika pack, is made from leftover hammock fabric.
Recycling gear
The longer gear lasts, the less waste we’re responsible for creating, which is one of the reasons each Kammok product is backed by a lifetime warranty. When gear is no longer usable, we encourage you to responsibly recycle or repurpose. Head over to our blog to learn more about repurposing or recycling used gear.
