Inflatable Sleeping Pad
After a long day on the trail, lay on the PongoTM camping sleeping pad for a well-deserved rest. Whether used on the ground or in a hammock the Pongo’s three inch thick baffles and soft fabric provide comfort and support for a comfortable night’s rest.
At three inches thick, the Pongo camping sleeping pad provides excellent cushion for sleep, whether you’re a back sleeper, side sleeper, or somewhere in between. The spot welded baffles create an egg crate style of surface, that reduces pressure points and low spots while hammock camping and when sleeping on the ground.
Comfort in the backcountry
Our Pongo pad is extra roomy, designed for tall sleepers to stretch out and spread their toes. Wider and longer than traditional sleeping pads, the Pongo allows campers to sprawl out in any direction. A tapered design reduces weight for thru-hikers, and provides more wiggle room at the shoulders. An air to ground pad, the Pongo was designed for hammock campers and ground dwellers alike.
The Pongo’s tapered design is specialized for hammock camping, pushing the hammock fabric out for more livable room and adding stability for the flattest lay. Sticky silicone footprints on the backside, paired with the hammock accessory kit, keep the hammock pad at an optimal angle and prevent unwanted sliding throughout the night.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the R-value for the Pongo pad?
The Pongo is the ideal summer sleeping pad to keep you comfortable at temperatures 40ºF and up. We’re still in the midst testing the Pongo’s R-value and will provide the value when confirmed. To increase the temperature range, pair the Pongo pad with one of our trail quilts or Thylacine sleeping bag.
How do I inflate my Pongo sleeping pad?
The Pongo pad can be inflated by mouth or by air pump through the inflate value. We recommend using our Air Pump Sack, as condensation from breaths will eventually lead to deterioration of the PU lining inside (this is true for all sleeping pads).
How do I use the hammock accessory kit?
Use the included hammock accessory kit to secure your Pongo pad to your Roo Hammock. Loop each toggle end of the shock cord through the eyelets welded on to the sleeping pad. Hook opposite ends of the shock cord to the peak gear loops found on the inside of your Roo hammock. Pull the line locks to adjust to desired height and comfort.
What hammocks are compatible with the Pongo pad?
The Pongo sleeping pad is compatible with the Roo Double, Roo Double XL, Roo Single, Mantis, and Mantis UL hammocks. When placed in a Roo Single UL hammock, the Pongo pad will be very large compared to other Roo hammocks.
Can I sleep on the backside of the pad?
Yes, when reversed, the silicone grips can help keep a sleeping bag in place on the pad.
Can the Pongo pad be used on the ground?
The Pongo can be used as a backpacking sleeping pad when camping on the ground, as well as a hammock pad. Always make sure to clear the area beneath your pad of debris and sharp objects.
