About Kammok

Somewhere between dreaming big and too many cups of coffee, Greg created the word “Kammok”–where “camping” and “hammock” meet. An unexpected slip of the tongue and the name stuck.

Our mission is to equip and inspire others for life changing adventure.

A natural leader and encourager, founder Greg McEvilly merged his passion for community with the great outdoors, and Kammok was born. Our mission is to equip, inspire and unite the outdoor community with technical, high performance gear. Every product we create serves our mission to move others beyond the mundane and into a life of adventure.

B Corp is to business what a Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk. Essentially, a B Corporation is a company that meets performance and legal requirements by B Lab, a nonprofit organization that serves a global movement of people using business as an avenue to do good. They’re on a mission to build a global community of certified B Corps who meet the highest standards of verified, overall social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability. 1% for the Planet is a not-for-profit organization that connects businesses, consumers and nonprofits - empowering each of us to drive lasting, positive change. Every year, before we take any expenses, salary, overhead or material costs out of the equation, we donate 1% of our revenue to our nonprofit partner, Explore Austin. Giving is our responsibility to others and our planet, and we believe in the mission and work of Explore Austin – we are honored to give more as we grow.

All of our products are designed and prototyped here in Austin, Texas. When it comes to production, our products are manufactured in Asia. While we source our component parts from several countries, the majority of our final production is in China. Our team has built a solid relationship with our production partners over the past seven years, and we are proud to work alongside a world-class team to produce our gear. As a certified B Corp company, we ensure our that our manufacturing processes are both ethical and environmentally-conscious.


Shipping

Yep, we’re worldwide! International shipping fees will apply. Proceed to checkout with your product(s) to see available options before officially placing your order. Also, please note that we have no control over customs timelines and that you are responsible for any customs or duty fees.

We want to get you geared up as soon as possible! Orders typically ship same day if they are made before 12pm CST Monday through Friday. If an order is placed after noon CST, it will ship out the next business day. During high volume times such as holidays, it could take up to 48 hours for your order to ship. Please note that we do not ship or prepare orders to be shipped over the weekend.

Free domestic shipping is granted to orders $95 and over within the U.S. and free international shipping is granted to orders $199 and over.

To activate lifetime warranty, you must register your products within 30 days of purchase. Beyond activating your warranty, registering your product keeps you in the loop for product updates, know-how and Kammok community events.

Serial numbers are typically located on a white tag attached to the inner seam of the stuff sack opening. Some products made before 2015 might not have a serial number tag.

Our products are built to outlast your wildest endeavors, and are covered by a lifetime warranty. We know you’ll have a great experience. If anything should go awry, or if you’re not entirely pleased, we’ll make it right. We’ve got your back. Please note that our warranty only covers products from authorized resellers with proof of purchase. (We do not support warranties for purchases made on eBay or non-Kammok Amazon Marketplace sellers).

If you think that your damaged product files under our lifetime guarantee, please email us at hello@kammok.com to make a claim:

  • Include your order number (if purchased through kammok.com) or proof of purchase (if purchased through another verified retailer).
  • Provide 2-3 photos of the issue (e.g. zoomed in, zoomed out, properly lighted).
  • Provide any additional context on the cause of the issue, your use of the product when it occurred, and your general use of the product.
  • We will get back to you within 1-2 business days regarding next steps.

Repairs, Returns & Exchanges

For returns/repairs/exchanges of gear ordered on kammok.com, email us at hello@kammok.com with your order number and what you would like to return/repair/exchange:

We do our best to process returns and exchanges within 7 business days once they are received back at our facility. Keep in mind that we get backlogged during peak seasons and sales, so it may take longer during those times. For valid returns of unused gear (that still has tags), we will credit the original form of purchase for the returned gear (full price before shipping costs) upon receipt and processing.

We’ve got your back. As part of our commitment to lasting gear, we strive to repair our gear in-house whenever possible. To initiate a repairs case, please email hello@kammok.com your name, order number (if applicable), product name, photo of the area to be repaired and a short description of what went wrong.

If our team determines that your case falls under our warranty, you will not be charged for repairs. If your case is not covered by our warranty, you will incur a small repairs fee equal to the shipping cost plus hourly repair rate.

Please allow up to 10 business days for repairs to be completed and shipped back. Note that a Kammok repair will not void your product against future warranty claims.

Our popular Wallaby single hammock has received a new name and an updated design. It is now called the Roo Single for increased clarity.

The biggest difference between the Roo Double and Roo Single is the size of the hammock. The Roo Double is 10’ long, and can hold up to 500 lb. We recommend the Roo Double if you plan to camp in your hammock, or if you will frequently be hammocking with two people. The Roo Single is 8’ long and holds up to 400 lb. At only 10 oz, we recommend the Roo Single for those looking to have a quick-access or ultralight hammock that goes anywhere.

NO - The Roo Single and Roo Double are highly breathable and do not repel water. If you hang your hammock under a waterfall, the water will pass through the fabric fairly quickly. Both Lunarwave fabric (used for the Roo Double) and the Gravitas fabric (used for the Roo Single) are 100% nylon. Therefore, they resist mildew and dry quickly.

While our gear is made to withstand the outdoor elements, we do not recommend leaving any of our gear outside when not in use in order to extend useful life. Leaving gear outside in full exposure of elements (rain, sun, snow, and more) may, over time, compromise the integrity of the materials and is not considered normal use.

Hand washing your hammock with cold water and biodegradable detergent is best for extending its useful life, but it can also be cleaned in a washing machine (front-load machines are best). Washing machine instructions:

  • Remove the carabiners and slings prior to wash.
  • If the Roo is soiled or stained, use a small amount of powdered detergent (preferably biodegradable). Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or stain removal products.
  • Wash the hammock by itself using the gentle/cold water setting.
  • Hang to dry. The hammock will dry quickly in warm/dry environment. Do not stuff back in stuff sack damp or wet.

The loops on the perimeter of the Roo are there for gear attachment point and are great for clipping water bottles and other accessories.

No. They are sold separately to allow for order customization depending on personal needs and preferences. We recommend polyester webbing over nylon cord or webbing for multiple reasons relative to stretch, durability and environmental sustainability (i.e. keeping those sturdy tree's around for generations of Kammoking!)

Unless you already have straps or a hammock stand, we recommend purchasing some Python Straps to get your hammock up in the air. Versatile, adjustable, and tree-friendly, the Python Straps can safely suspend users by anchor points over 20 feet apart.

The Glider was built for extreme weather conditions. A built in water retention system and smart fabrics reflect heat in warm weather and trap heat in cold weather, adapting to the environment to keep you comfortable while you hang.

The Kuhli is a more versatile option, giving you a variety of setup options based on your environment and hang preferences. Both are equally durable and high performing weather shelters.

Depending on the weather conditions you are camping in, you do not need a liner to use the Thylacine Bag. Our down liner increases your temperature rating by 20ºF, bringing you from a 40ºF bag to a 20ºF bag when using synthetic, or upping the game from a 20ºF bag to a 0ºF bag in a matter of minutes.

For temperatures below 60°F, we recommend using our Koala underquilt. For anything above that, a trail quilt such as our Firebelly (or something lighter for warmer temps) should keep you warm. The down Koala and Firebelly can be used together to keep you warm in temps as low as 30°F.

If you are not satisfied with any purchase made after December 1, you may return your items for a refund within 60 days of the purchase date. Items must be new and unused, with their original tags still attached.

If you received your Kammok item as a gift over the holidays, you may exchange for an item of equal or lesser value, or return your item for a Kammok gift card by January 31.

Please note that original and return shipping costs are non-refundable. You will be responsible for return shipping for any exchange or returned items. Kammok covers return shipping on all warranty items purchased from kammok.com. You can review our warranty policy here.

To ensure Santa ships your gear in time for the holidays, online orders cannot be modified or cancelled once they are placed.

Nope. Our discounts don’t stack. If used on already-discounted items, we reserve the right to void the sale.
